Updated: Dec 12, 2023

The inaugural qualifier for Season 2 of the UK Cornhole League drew a spirited crowd, with a total of 34 players from the UK and Europe converging on Manchester to showcase their cornhole prowess.

The UKCL welcomed 12 new players, and the newcomers proved to be a formidable addition to the league, with standout performances from players like Richard Blanke and Thomas Hofstee.

Established UKCL regulars, including Bowers, Wishart, Hiser, and Jonathan Chivers, showcased their skills throughout the day, contributing to the overall high level of competition.

Liam McGrath demonstrated remarkable consistency, finishing 4th and making a significant leap of 9 places in the season rankings table.

Jacob Babich, this seasons UK Open champion, faced tough competition and finished 5th after being sent to the losers bracket by Alex Bowers 15-21 and then bowing out in a tight game to Richard Blanke 20-21.

The final showdown between Daniel Lilley and Matthew Richardson was intense, with Lilley securing the first match 21-16. However, Richardson bounced back in the second game, clinching his 6th UKCL title with a 21-13 win, while Lilley earned his 5th runners-up trophy, humorously referred to as "Always a bridesmaid, never the bride."".
