Oliver “Airmail Ollie” Chivers: Wine, Rhythm, and Rising Through the Ranks

Newmarket native Oliver Chivers may spend his working days navigating the world of fine wine, but when the boards come out, it’s his signature airmail that really steals the show.

A key figure at Bury Baggers Cornhole Club, Ollie plays alongside his dad, Jonathon, and together they’ve made their presence known across the UKCL circuit and beyond. Nicknamed “Airmail Ollie” for good reason, his precision throwing and cool under pressure have already earned him a reputation that extends well past his home turf.

From Oxford to International Spotlight

Having only picked up a bag in 2023, Ollie’s cornhole journey began at the UKCL Oxford event, and he hasn’t looked back since. With a 9th place finish at Qualifier 1 this season, he proved he’s a contender. But it’s his international appearances that have really highlighted his rising star status:

Washed five rounds with U.S. pro Trey Burchfield at the WCO World Championships—and even notched five points.
Scored a clutch win over U.S. star Hunter Thorn with back-to-back airmail drags.
Took 1st place in Tier 2 Blind Draw at the WCO Trier event.
Secured Tier 2 Doubles victory at ACO Manchester 2024, partnered with his dad.
Finished 2nd in Tier 2 Singles at the ACO Birmingham 2025 event.

It’s an impressive résumé for someone who’s only been in the sport a couple of years—and he’s just getting started.

The Road to Nationals

As the UKCL National Championships approach, Ollie will be competing in Tier 2, where he’s expected to be a major threat. True to form, his outlook is relaxed but focused:

“Shoot straight and have some fun.”

With a rhythm sharpened on the drums, a palate for detail honed through wine sales, and a competitive edge that’s earned through experience against some of the best in the world, Oliver Chivers is one to watch.
