National Championship 2022/23 Review

The top 16 players travelled to Manchester to finish what has been a fantastic first season in the United Kingdom Cornhole League.

There were four seeded groups with the top two from each group going through to the quarter finals.

Matthew Richardson, Daniel Lilley and Konrad Rein went through their respected groups unblemished, winning all their games.

Other qualifiers were Jon Wishart, Jared Neusch, Aaron Fielder, Jonathan Chivers and Joshua Hiser.

Daniel Lilley defeated Arron Fielder with a 10 round/9+ PPR game and Jared Nuesch beat an in-form Jon Wishart to make the Semi final.

Konrad Rein got a clean 21-0 sweep over Jonathan Chivers and Matthew Richardson defeated his clubmate Josh Hiser 21-8 despite a great effort in the first 4-5 rounds from Hiser.

The first Semi Final was an amazing spectacle, Konrad played lights out for the first 6-7 rounds and took a dominating 18-2 lead but the American found another gear and clawed back the game 21-18.

The second semi final between Neusch and Lilley was another battle with both players shooting 8+ PPR's but it was Daniel who reached the final against Matthew with a 21-7 win.

The 3rd place playoff was won by Konrad Rein 21-9.

The final between Richardson and Lilley was the 3rd time the pair met in a final this season. The game was a first to 2 game and Richardson followed on with his scoring power from the previous game and took the title 2-0 (21/6, 21/4).

Matthew Richardson won 4 events this season and Daniel reaching 3 finals but coming up short every time.

Thank you to all the players for a fantastic season and we looking forward to the upcoming 2023/24 season ahead.
