From Wild Throws to National Ambitions: Lewis Wildman’s Rapid Rise

When Lewis Wildman first stepped onto the boards in August 2023 at the newly launched Coventry Snipers Cornhole Club, he wasn’t planning on becoming a serious competitor. A man of many niche interests — from Crown Green Bowls to Pub Skittles, Dodgeball, and even cultivating a growing whisky collection — Cornhole was simply meant to be another quirky hobby to add to the list.

But Cornhole had other ideas.

Just one session in, both Lewis and his partner Natalie were hooked. What started as curiosity quickly escalated into competition. By December 2023, only four months after picking up a bag for the first time, Lewis entered his debut UKCL event and went on to place 13th in the Tier 2 National Championships — a result that turned heads and marked him as one to watch.

Now a fixture on the boards at Snipers’ new home in Coleshill, Lewis has been steadily levelling up his game. Initially known for his unpredictable “wild throws,” he’s since developed a growing arsenal of refined shots — including a dependable blocker, a sneaky cut, and an increasingly reliable reverse cut. And with each throw, his confidence grows.

Lewis thrives on high-stakes, closely contested matches. He singles out his matches against Ian Biddulph as standouts — tightly fought, competitive showdowns filled with energy and mutual respect. These are the moments Lewis lives for: when the margins are thin, and every bag matters.

With eyes now firmly set on a top-three finish this season, Lewis is embracing the challenge ahead. What began as a casual pastime is now a serious pursuit — and one that shows no signs of slowing down.

He might have joined for fun, but Lewis Wildman is no longer just a curious newcomer. He’s becoming a serious contender on the UK Cornhole scene.
